Hi. I'm Fiona Williams and I'm the founder of the nursery we call Little Haven. 

I have over 15 years’ experience of working with families and children in various childcare settings throughout Cardiff. 

Today, I run six different childcare settings (Little Haven is the fifth). My company is called Parachutes Childcare Ltd

Dedicated to Public Service

Helping families has always been my passion. Before opening Little Haven, my focus was on public sector childcare with the Welsh Government's Flying Start scheme. At our peak, we ran as many as six Flying Start centres helping children across Cardiff get the best possible start in life.  

In parallel with Little Haven, we will continue to operate four Flying Start centres in some of Cardiff's most economically deprived areas.

Little Haven

In Little Haven, we want to bring the quality of childcare we have developed over several years with Flying Start. In the educational sector, our mentality has always been that childcare is about much more than simply keeping children occupied until Mum or Dad collects them. 

The ethos and culture we deliver is ‘learning to play, playing to learn’. At Little Haven, children learn through fun, imaginative and creative experiences that develop independent thinking.

Learning Experiences

Our experiences are planned by staff for your children daily.  Our teams take into account your child’s like s and dislikes, needs, age, wishes and views whilst planning for the next day’s experiences.

Purpose-Designed Spaces

Each of our nurseries has been designed to make the best use of the playrooms, with natural light, calm decoration and a cosy atmosphere.  All equipment and resources are of the finest quality and chosen for their individual learning potential.

An Amazing Team

Each of our Nurseries is managed by an experienced Leader and Nursery Nurses.  Our Leaders are responsible for the day to day running of the nursery room and work closely with the Managers and Directors who are available daily and oversee all aspects of the company.

We have teams of full and part time experienced, committed childcare practitioners who are responsible for providing a high quality care experience for your children.  All staff are qualified with childcare qualifications to a high level and offer quality interactions and engagement throughout the day.

Staff Training

We are passionate about training and supporting our staff. As well as being DBS checked, all staff have passed or are working towards training awards in:

• Paediatric first aid

• Safeguarding

• Speech and language

• Child-centred learning

• Wellbeing and involvement

• Health and safety

• Makaton sign language

• Rubikon Dance, Monkey Music Sessions

• Welsh language

• Observations and assessments

• Child-adult interaction

We encourage all our staff to continue training up to degree level and beyond (Level 6-7).
